How did you know you wanted to be an author? I wanted to make real life demons that pop up in people’s lives to be more approachable. I found many of us are all too often intimidated by first person stories. Through my fictional writing the fears and concerns that crop up when the unexpected happens are more easily tackled and discussed.
What is your advice for aspiring authors? Let the chores go and sit down and write!
Do you have any writing rituals or practices? I start with a timeline and a pen. Yes, a pen! My first edit is when I enter the manuscript on the computer. I know what I want to say and spin the tale on my own. When I send it off for the first professional edit, I take a deep breath and wait to get back to work. When the I receive the first copy of my finished book, my husband is always the first to read it.
What message to you want readers to remember? The power of one is real! We can do anything and overcome anything knowing we have the power to do so.
