How Did You Know You Wanted To Be An Author? I've always loved writing. I was editor of my high school paper in Pasadena, CA, and during my college years, in addition to some free-lance writing for several magazines, I was a staff reporter for the Pasadena Eagle, a minority newspaper. However, when faced with the question of whether I should be a writer or stay on my track to become an attorney, I sold out and went to law school.
What Is Your Advice For Aspiring Authors? Just write. Other than that, it's not really fair for me to give advice. I didn't publish my first novel until I retired from practicing law and I neither need nor expect to make a lot of money from my writing.
I write for the love of it, which, I suppose, in the end, is the best advice anyone can actually give.
