How did you know you wanted to be an author?: When I read Robert Frost's poetry in Third Grade, I was enchanted. My teacher gave me a writing workbook 'just for fun' and I've been putting thoughts into words ever since.
What is your advice for aspiring authors?: Keep trying, ask for feedback, don't give up, be true to yourself and your experiences. Find an agent with integrity who will respect your voice.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices?: I jot ideas down as soon as possible after they occur. I try to be 'faithful to the story' and work for 'economy of style'. I will never write sensational, popular, or formula fiction and I do not regret this choice. I write when I can -- having some major brain problems does interfere with my routine and writing practice.
What message do you want readers to remember?: I want them to know they are loved, beyond doubt or any circumstance, and I want them to be able to connect with others by finding common ground.
How can fans get in contact with you?: my e-mail address is email@example.com and I can be contacted via my website.
