Book Title: The Common Wife: Getting Lost, Dancing Naked & Collecting Seashells
Author Name: Lindy Hughes
Book Synopsis: When Lindy’s husband discovers that she has been living a secret life as a burlesque dancer, the glitter hits the fan. Perimenopause does not help. In the midst of a hot flush, Lindy remembers her destiny - to save the world. So she tells her husband that she can no longer be married. She needs to find her Big Life, the one that doesn’t include a picket-fence house in the suburbs. Lindy heads to Northern Spain with her purple backpack, Petunia, to stomp the sacred soil of the Camino de Santiago in search of God (if he exists) and herself (whomever the hell that is). Of course, she gets lost...
Author Bio: After forays into journalism and astrology, and a failed attempt at joining the circus, Lindy taught English in South Africa. In 1997, she immigrated to Canada with her family (via Texas) and has since dabbled in dance, yoga and restorative justice. Lindy has a master's in psychology and is a certified coach and guided autobiography facilitator. She is regularly awestruck by the magic hiding in everyday stories. On occasion, she twirls through her cottage in Eagle Harbour, BC, wearing wings and other sparkly things, because...well, why not?
