How did you know you wanted to be an author? The first time I watched Murder She Wrote I thought it would be a neat thing to do when I retired. So I’ve been writing for over 20 years now and I still haven’t retired.
What is your advice for aspiring authors? Just start writing. About anything. Write what you know. Don’t try to imitate someone else. Check out writers’ groups in your area. Go online and check out websites that cater to authors. Start a blog.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices? Ideas come when they want to. You can’t force them. So I carry a thumb drive with me so I can write on my work computer when I have time, download it to the thumb drive, upload it on my laptop, etc. And I never travel without my laptop.
What message to you want readers to remember? That I am an awesome author and they can’t wait for the next Toni Day mystery to come out. They might also get a better idea of what pathologists do all day at the hospital, because it’s not all autopsies all the time. There’s a lot more to it.
How can fans get in contact with you?
