How Did You Know You Wanted To Be An Author? My earliest memories have little to do with writing. In my backyard there was a tree. I would climb into the branches and open my imagination to capture the ideas flowing by. Today I don’t write in a tree but I do escape into mind-pockets. How strange the creative process is. Our conscious minds can’t go to what I call ‘the vast warehouse-within’ the space for everything read, heard, touched, smelled, tasted in our past. The pen flows; I become the messenger capturing ideas that need expression
What Is Your Advice For Aspiring Authors? If you get stuck, try this. Grab a pen and a journal. On the first page capture all your fears and all those 'this sucks' thoughts. On the second page, capture all your optimistic, over the top, 'this is the best' thoughts. Then turn the page, pause the pen and inquire. What does the book need you to say next?
Doing this will get you out of the way and allow ideas to be expressed through you
