How did you know you wanted to be an author? An idea came and wouldn’t go away. Characters and scenes began to form and fill my head until one day I decided I should write this down. So I did. I became so enthralled, scenes I became such a part of, I couldn’t stop until the book was done.
What is your advice for aspiring authors? Write what you’re passionate about. Experience your passion and live your dream. You want to write? Focus on writing. Whatever you’re thinking about, whatever you’re feeling inside, whatever you’re focused on, this you’ll get more of. Like attracts like.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices? Just do it! That’s what I hear in my head constantly. I work best on a schedule, so I schedule writing time mostly in the a.m. hours when my mind and body is rested and ready to create. I try to have a small notebook with me wherever I go in case a new creative thought comes through.
What message to you want readers to remember? The best stories come from deep within us and are of us. Either our inner child comes out to play and makes all things possible, or we mold our characters and events from our own experiences, or our dreams of wanting to experience.
