How did you know you wanted to be an author?: My grandparents owned newspapers. I got the itch early in life.
What is your advice for aspiring authors?: Write. Write. Write. Most of the time my books come to me from the first page to the last, but that doesn't happen for everyone. Write what you want others to hear not what you want to say. Take one sentence and make it into a paragraph then take that paragraph and make it into a chapter. You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish!
Do you have any writing rituals or practices?: Slicing time out during a busy day is a BIG factor to staying on task. I've learned that when the voices start talking, to get up and write. A lot of my writing is at night, or I will even wake up with thoughts and go straight to the computer. I wouldn't call them rituals, but definitely patterns!
What message do you want readers to remember?: I'm a huge helpless romantic. All my books have flowers in them and I believe in what I write. I believe that if you want something enough, nothing can stand in your way!
