How did you know you wanted to be an author? From schooldays I have had a love for reading and for the English Language. I won prizes in essay competitions at school. Being a believer in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and my Saviour, I longed to share the message about Him in the simplicity of His truth. Years of writing short articles and teaching materials honed my writing skill until I felt I was ready to tackle a book.
What is your advice for aspiring authors? Write simply and clearly. If you choose the route of self-publishing, research publishers, costs and procedure thoroughly before choosing a publisher. Marketing is a huge part of self-publishing. Learn as much about marketing as you can, especially in the field of selling books.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices? No. I try to be consistent – working slowly and carefully every day. I don’t become worried when I have no inspiration to write. I do much thinking and researching before I tackle a chapter or topic. I try not to set deadlines.
What message to you want readers to remember?I do not consider myself an author but a writer. I am the pen that writes the message, but the message is not mine. The message I have conveyed is from the Word of God, recorded as faithfully as I know how. My message is simple. Follow Jesus. He is the Way to the Father.
