How did you know you wanted to be an author?: The day I lost my son was the day my healing from my past began. I knew right then that I needed to guide others through the darkness of trauma, PTSD and grief. The first thing that came to my mind was finally breaking my thirteen years of silence and crafting my story into a memoir. I knew I had a long way to go with my healing still, but I knew one thing - healing was possible.
What is your advice for aspiring authors?: Your words are in you, they always have been. It just takes a lot of patience and perseverance to pull them all out. No dream is ever too big to accomplish, so never give up.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices?: I wake up every morning and open my journal and write the first thoughts in my mind onto paper. It is like a "brain dump" to clear myself before I begin to write a blog, article or work on my next book. I also tap into my creative mind through mind-body exercises like yoga.
What message do you want readers to remember?: "Love is the reason we grieve and love is what will bring you back," Just Be.
How can fans get in contact with you?: My website. Sign up for my weekly blogs, updates and event information.
