How did you know you wanted to be an author? When I was about eleven years old, my teacher read a student’s creative writing piece to the class that she thought was particularly well written. Upon hearing it I thought, “This is easy! I can do this!” It’s turned out to be harder than I thought, but the desire has always stayed with me.
What is your advice for aspiring authors? Just keep on trying. It’s impossible to feel positive and motivated all the time, and there may be times when you’re just not up to it, but never relinquish the basic intention to write. Sometimes you have to force yourself. A routine helps.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices?I set myself a page limit and write that – normally two pages at a time, twice a day.
What message to you want readers to remember?Treasure your imagination and strive for personal integrity. Try to learn from your mistakes.
