How Did You Know You Wanted To Be An Author? I have always enjoyed telling stories but I did not set out to be an author. My first children's book "My Amazing Dad" actually started off as a speech that I used to compete in a Toastmasters Tall Tales contest. I performed the speech and won several competitions. Shortly afterwards my dad, Berkins Booker Jr., passed away. I decided to publish "My Amazing Dad" as a children's book to honor my father and share his story with other families.
What Is Your Advice For Aspiring Authors? My advice for aspiring authors is to just do it. I have met hundreds of people who have either been working on a book or book idea for years. If that sounds like you, stop procrastinating and just do it. Finish the book!
