How did you know you wanted to be an author? Writing came naturally to me. In grad school, I wondered why my classmates wanted to be in my “group.” They noticed my writing skill before I did. There was a personal event in my life that I had to record for posterity.
What is your advice for aspiring authors? Know the English language. Write about subjects you know and love. Challenge yourself.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices?I realized that I’m more creative at night, but I get more written during the day. I think about a concept many times before I commit it to paper. By the time I decide to put it on paper, I’ve already completed many mental rough drafts. Establish your habits and routines. Stick to your convictions, but be willing to listen to other’s suggestions.
What message to you want readers to remember?Writing is very personal. Writing is a learned skill. Don’t be afraid to share your writing with others. Be receptive to criticism. You always have the right to accept or reject suggestions.
How can fans get in contact with you?I prefer the written word. Feel free to send me an email or find me on Facebook. My hearing is bad so electronic devices I avoid.
