How did you know you wanted to be an author?: I knew at a very young age I wanted to be a writer. I still find journals and stories that I wrote as a kid. My mind is always working, and I figure there's too many interesting things floating around up there that I need to share!
What is your advice for aspiring authors?: Be patient. This is a hard gig! It takes time, diligence, and hard work to brand yourself and your books, it's not something that will take off overnight. And it's important to remember that during the process, because you will get discouraged. BUT- do not let that keep you from moving forward! Perseverance will pay off in the end.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices?: I don't have any rituals; however I do make sure that when something pops into my head I write it down that very instance! That means, if I have a dream at 3 am, I get myself out of bed and write that thought down.
What message do you want readers to remember?: I would like for my readers to remember the greatest generation! It was important to me to write down my dad's story, not only to preserve the history, but also to show how it shaped a young hot head into a good man. Take the path life gives you, and look for the good in it, so that you can do good with what you've seen.
