How did you know you wanted to be an author?: I've always loved to write, that's why I became an attorney. Then, practicing law taught me how to make someone think one thing is happening when it's really something else! So, my back ground is perfect for writing thriller/suspense.
What is your advice for aspiring authors?: You need to love writing to aspire to becoming a full-time writer because it is eighty percent alone time. That said, if it's your love, keep writing, don't give up, but also take every opportunity to improve your craft, meet other writers, and pay attention to what your readers say.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices?: Everyone has something that works for them. Personally, I write "in my head" while I exercise - preferably long walks in the woods - then I put my thoughts to paper when I return home.
What message do you want readers to remember?: Never assume. What you see and hear is often not what happened.
How can fans get in contact with you?: Through my website: www.elainewilliamscrockett.com.
