How did you know you wanted to be an author? I loved to write as far back as kindergarten and was a prolific writer.
What is your advice for aspiring authors? Pacing, Patience and Perseverance. You must pace the story and have patience in researching, self-editing and working with your editors. Perseverance will net you publishing success.
Do you have any writing rituals or practices? I mull things over and let the story churn around in my mind before I start a new work or pick-up in mid-project. Once I see it in my mind, the words flow.
I do not set aside specific times to write. Instead I write when I am ready, without regard to the time of day.
What message to you want readers to remember? I likely wrote about 36 drafts and ran them past 35 beta readers over-all. I never ceased researching the details. Always get the little things right as they are the frosting between the layers.
