How Did You Know You Wanted To Be An Author? My pathway to writing was through music. While studying composition at the Boston Conservatory, I started recording thoughts and observations on a variety of subjects, filling a number of notepads without any notion that I would later become an author, using much of that early material for my first volumes of published work. After graduation I kept on writing, realizing that I could produce works of literature in addition to music, which set me on a literary venture that I continue to explore.
What Is Your Advice For Aspiring Authors? If you want your writing to be authentic, always be true to your aesthetics, and speak with your own voice by pen as well as by tongue, never giving anything to print that you think others would want to read, but is not something you believe in, understanding that such a confliction could not escape being present in such work, however veiled.
