How did you know you wanted to be an author?: I was always a big reader but when an illness kept me homebound for over two years, I decided to start writing. I put my computer out in my laundry room and it became my escape from the world. Some days I'd only write a few sentences, others I'd write pages. It was very therapeutic. Several of my books just stayed on my computer, and floppy disks (lol) for years until I shared them.
What is your advice for aspiring authors?: I hope that I'm giving credit to the person who penned this quote. I live by it daily. "Don't dig up in doubt what you planted in faith." - Elisabeth Elliott
Do you have any writing rituals or practices?: More of my time is spent rolling the story line around in my head and actually visiting places that inspire me. The writing comes quickly when I'm in the right state of mind. I would love to say that I can work by a set schedule but I can only write when the juices are flowing. The answer to successful writing - wear comfortable pajamas!
What message do you want readers to remember?: It doesn't happen overnight and not everyone will like your work.
